Preppy Prints Protect

Preppy Prints Protect

If you buy something you absolutely love, don't you remember to use it? I believe in my products for their ability to help you live a sustainable lifestyle and to avoid single-use plastics. I know they are made with care (because my team and I care and we make them!) and have the necessary attributes to satisfy your needs. They can be washed, they are made using eco-friendly practices and they are lightweight for travel. None of this affects their color and pattern and they could be a plain solid color bag and do the same job. Or could they?

With a former career as Design Director for an architectural design and decorating firm in Manhattan, I used to spend hours every week scouring the New York City Decoration and Design Building (D & D) for interesting fabrics. This quickly became one of my most favorite things to do, ever, and I was like a kid in a candy store- the best candy store. One thing that stood out to me about these fabrics was that the majority of them were stripes, florals, plaids, geometrics and solids.

At the same time, I was already drawing wildlife as a hobby. Once I decided to start designing my own fabrics with my wildlife artwork, I became compelled to develop a fabric library of preppy prints filled with every animal imaginable. With only several dozen designed to date, this enjoyable mission will last for years to come and shall encompass other designers as Wendy Barnes Design grows. If your favorite animal is a snail, I hope to offer it to you in pink and green print fabric!

Striving to blend my love for design with meaning, it is crucial for my brand to marry each animal with a cause working to protect it or it's habitat. So what we have here now is a growing library hopefully including some of your favorite animals, allowing you to support people working to protect them and to look super cute at the same time.

Lemur love by Wendy Barnes Design

If you want to remember to actually use your reusable straw in a restaurant, you will set yourself up to succeed if you love the case it is in. Leave it out on the table to remember to grab your straw out of the glass before you exit. If you have to choose between putting your trail mix into a plastic bag or a bright orange alligator print bag, will you not feel happier seeing those alligators in your bag and knowing you are helping to save their habitat?

Preppy prints with meaning donating back to non-profit causes is our interpretation of fashion for good. Not only can you start the conversation with your friends on why you love and help lemurs, you can have the cutest accessory around! Feeling good is fashionable.

Wendy Barnes Design connects wildlife conservation causes to everyday lifestyle choices through animal prints resulting in awareness and action. Join the newsletter and meet the partners you can support through every purchase and more at www.wendybarnesdesign.com
